Kent Miners Festival 2019: 30 Years
Come hear us play at the Kent Miners Festival on August Bank Holiday Monday!
The annual festival will be taking place from 10am to5pm at Betteshanger Business Park near Deal.
As one of the many performances, Betteshanger Band will be playing from 2pm with a selection of great music for all to enjoy. It will be the first time the band uses their new music stands and banners, purchased through the funding of the Coal Regeneration Trust; and having their debut use at such an event – commemorating 30 years since the closure of the last mine in Kent – could not be more fitting!

News from the Band Room
At our last practice the band had the pleasure of having someone new join us for a blow; Eddie, who has recently moved to Kent from Germany, was a very welcome visitor to the Eb Bass ranks. We would love to have him play with us again and hopefully join us as a permanent member of the band.

Final Concert – and 30 Years More
Betteshanger Band will be participating in another commemorative event, playing to pay tribute to the 11 Royal Marines musicians who lost their lives to a terrorist bomb on the 22nd September 1989. It will be 30 years since the tragedy, with the concert taking place on Sunday 22nd September, 2019, the final concert of the season at Deal Memorial Bandstand.
The programme will include ‘Sunset’, ‘Evening Hymn’, ‘Rule Britannia’ and ‘The Regimental March of the Royal Marines’ and the concert will begin at 2.30pm.

THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES. DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JACK STOREY. SO PROUD OF YOU ALL.
