ONE COMMUNITY, ONE PROMISE. – WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
An Evening of Music, Reflection and Remembrance
Some sacrifices should never be forgotten. Some stories deserve to be told. And some moments are best shared together.
This Saturday 7th November, join us at St George’s Church, Deal, for a special Festival of Remembrance — an evening of powerful music, moving words and heartfelt tribute to all who have served, continue to serve and made the ultimate sacrifice.
The evening will feature the award-winning Betteshanger Colliery Welfare Band, alongside the beautiful voices of the Military Wives Choir Shorncliffe.
Our host, Brian Short, former Royal Marines musician, Falklands War veteran and acclaimed author, will share personal reflections through his poignant talk Musicians at War and moving poetry.
Featuring much-loved pieces including For the Fallen, In Flanders Fields, Benedictus, Mansions of the Lord and Requiem for a Soldier, the music promises to touch hearts and stir memories.
The evening will conclude with a traditional Act of Remembrance, including the Entrance of the Standards, the Last Post, two-minute silence and Reveille.
Tickets are available on the door, online through the link below, or directly from the Royal Marines Association in Walmer.
Whether you have a personal connection to our Armed Forces, a love of beautiful music, or simply wish to come together in remembrance, we would be honoured to welcome you.
Bring your family and friends and join us for an evening that truly matters.
Their sacrifice. Our gratitude. Their memory. Our promise.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
Hosted by Falklands War veteran Brian Short.
